Where is Taylorsville Ut?
Taylorsville Utah started as a small pioneer farming community and is located in the center of the Salt Lake Valley.
In 1848, Joseph and Susanna Harker, early pioneers from England crossed over the Jordan River and settled the Taylorsville area. Hence, the place was known as "Over Jordan" for a while. The settlement was later renamed Taylorsville after the Taylor family who were early settlers in this area. John Taylor, third president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was a member of the Taylor family. Although the area has grown to a population of over 61,000 residents, it still retains much of the "Small community attributes". Taylorsville is a community of volunteers and ham radio is a strong part of those efforts. |
The "Taylorsville Amateur Radio Club or TARC" continues to be an integral part of communication resources to the community and its residents.
